Planning, creating and delivering a professional funeral service:
- Meeting with you and guiding you through the process,
- Creating a personal and fitting eulogy,
- Liaising with your chosen funeral director,
- Suggesting and providing sample poems and readings,
- Guiding family and friends through giving a reading (where required),
Within 24 hours of being contacted by yourself, or notified by your chosen funeral director, I will call you to introduce myself, explain the path we will walk together and arrange a suitable date and time for us to meet and begin our journey.
Shortly before our first meeting I will send you an email that will describe the process we will go through. This email will also contain a series of questions that are designed to bring memories of your loved one to the forefront of your mind (although I'm sure they will already be there). This is so that those memories are clear and vibrant when we meet and talk, enabling us to create a fully detailed and personal story.
I will then take those memories and stories and weave them into the first draft of a narrative that will present those personal, funny and poignant stories in the most fitting way. This draft will be sent to you for your approval, comment or amendment as you see fit. You will be included in, and have final say over, every step in the creation of this service.
We will discuss what music you wish to include (if you have not already done so with your funeral director) and whether you would like a particular poem read out during the service.
Once the final version has been agreed, I will stay in touch in the days leading up to the funeral. I will be there for you, to provide assistance where needed, to answer any questions you may have and to make sure any last minute changes are incorporated.
